These are the top scoring films based on the my and “Frameline Friends” (i.e. the family of film that see each other once a year) Frameline 47 favorites,. This list varies considerably from the festival award winners.
Very Serious Films
Egoist Kept the audience glued despite being the last film on a school night, 120 minutes long, in a foreign language and no director present for a Q&A.
How to watch: Home alone or with a good friend, on a flight.
Where to watch: Not streaming: no known distribution but expect that to change. Planned release: unknown
Lie With Me French film adaptation of a novel. Best narrative of the festival IMO and others, too. Good story, well cast, presented.
Fun Films
Rotting in the Sun My favorite fun film done by a obnoxious LA guy, Jordan Firstman, who has had several shorts at Frameline and has never disappointed with his humor. His attitude and the gratuitous sex in the background turned off some viewers who walked out early, but they missed the big twist early in the film that made it fun. The role of the maid was superbly acted, she nailed it.
How to watch: With gay friends
Where to watch: Getting a release i September after the LGBT film fest circuit.
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
Glitter & Doom
Theater Camp

Taylor Mac’s 24-Decade History of Popular Music
